Down on the farm . . .

This weekend we took advantage of some extra time and wonderful weather to head to Grandma and Grandpa Ferguson's farm. Honestly, everytime we go to the farm I leave thinking that we should really do that more often. The kids love exploring and playing in ways they don't get to at home. They usually leave covered in dirt and exhausted . . . the marks of a day well spent.

The butterflies were out this weekend. Sophia was thrilled that they would land on her shirt though a little disappointed that she couldn't hold them in her hands.

Sophia got a lesson from Grandpa on the finer points of roasting hot dogs over the fire.

Grant loved cooking hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire. Grandpa was very proud of the roasting stick he had found for the kids.

This is why Grandpa was so proud . . . the stick could cook 6 hot dogs or marshmallows at once. Not too bad!

Grant and Sophia loved hunting for sticks to throw into the fire to keep it going. This would be the reason they left so exhausted . . . that's hard work!

Like father, like son. They are quite the pair.

Exploring and hunting for more sticks to throw in the fire.

Where brother goes, sister is sure to follow!

What is a trip to the farm without a ride on farm machinery?
