The Bride is Coming . . .

Grant was in a wedding last weekend. He was very excited. He woke up on Saturday morning and said, "Today is my first wedding!" Grant's job in the wedding was to announce the coming of the bride. He walked down the ailse with several other children right before the bride rining a bell and shouting "The bride is coming! The bride is coming!" (Just think of the sprititual analogy we could make there . . .)

The bride, Jenny, is a pretty amazing girl. Her life has been surprisingly intertwined with ours: she was a member of the youth group at Second Baptist when Travis was working with the youth, she was one of my residents at Jewell for a couple of years, and now she is one of Grant's teachers. While we've always been impressed with Jenny's Christ-like character and compassionate spirit, we have come to really love Jenny since she became one of Grant's teachers--you can't help but love someone who takes really good care of your kid!

Grant, Jenny, and all of the kids in the wedding . . . what a brave woman to have this many children in her wedding!

I like going to weddings with this guy.

Blowing bubbles after the wedding. Grant doesn't need much more than this to be happy.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. and Mrs. Dobbs!" Grant was thrilled to have one other job in the wedding. He got to announce the bride and groom as they came out of the church. If you know how much Grant loves to make announcements, you will know that at this moment, Grant felt every bit as special as the bride!
