Both kids had a long list of things they wanted to tell Santa. Seeing the big man in person can be a little intimidating though. When they finally got the chance to talk with him, the rehearsed lists went out the window. In the moment, what seemed most important to Grant was not his Christmas list, but safety. He decided to use his time with Santa to tell him, "Santa, climbing on roofs can be very dangerous! I don't want you to get hurt." Santa put Grant's worries at ease by letting him know that he had had a lot of training and practice at roof climbing and that he would be sure to be very careful.
Uncharacteristically, Sophia was speechless when placed on Santa's lap. Though she had a list a mile long of things she wanted to be sure to tell Santa to bring her, she couldn't get a word out when the time came. As we walked back to the car that night, Sophia sighed and then said, "Well, I guess I'll just take whatever he brings me."
Much to Sophia's delight, she got another chance to talk to the big man in red at her school Christmas party last week. She was determined that she was not going to miss the opportunity to make her wishes known the second time around. As soon as she was placed on Santa's lap, she spouted out a list of about 20 things that should would like Santa to bring. She was so relieved.

The kids were thrilled when it started "snowing" during the concert this year.

I have fond memories of attending your wedding just a couple weeks before ours in 1999. My, how the years fly by. We've come a long way, baby! :)
