We love Fall . . .

When we were house shopping this summer, one of the things on our wish lists of characteristics for our house was that it would be located in a neighborhood with a lot of old growth trees. This wish was granted. Our street is lined with many, many big, old trees. Now that fall is here, our street has transformed into wonderful shades of yellow, orange, red, and brown. The yards are carpeted with wonderful crunchy leaves.

Our yard in particular has two good sized trees in the front and several medium sized trees in the back. This being our first fall as homeowners, we are thrilled with our personal leaf making factory. We have spent many afternoons enjoying time in the yard playing in the leaves. (No, the reality of actually having to dispose of all of these leaves has not yet set in.)

Everyone gets in on the fun.

Sophia likes to pretend that the leaves are our bed and is thrilled when we cover her with leaves.

Don't let this picture fool you. Travis isn't really working, he's gathering leaves for a "leaf storm" (See below).

I love those eyes.

Brother and sister.

Of all of us Grant has the most endurance in leaf play. I'm pretty sure he'd stay out there all day if only someone would stay with him.

Joy.

Our friend Trent invented a game called "Leaf Storm" with the kids in which he would use the rake to throw massive amounts of leaves into the air for the kids to run under. The kids had a blast with Trent. Unfortunately, now Mommy and Daddy are left to continue Trent's game, and speaking for myself, I am not as strong as Trent. It's tiring!

We put them to work young around here. Grandmothers, please overlook the that our little girl was playing outside without shoes.

Cute.

We love fall.
