For weeks prior to Christmas the only thing that Grant would say he really wanted for Christmas was Dum Dum suckers. (Most of you know that Grant is on restrictive diet and is only allowed foods with artificial colors, flavors, preservatives . . . on very rare occasions.) Santa pulled through for the kid and brought him a big bag of suckers. We let Grant go at them till they were gone, figuring we'd just let it all play out at once. It was not uncommon for a couple of days to find Grant with three suckers in his mouth at a time. Grant still says the suckers were his favorite gift. Probably few kids were made as happy as he was for $2.50.
SpongeBob undies! Grant wasn't as impressed with this gift.
There are few things that Sophia loves more than unicorns, so Santa made sure to bring a couple of them for her.
Snow! The snow was deep enough that it was difficult for Sophia to walk. She will remember this snow forever!
Grant making stew in his new chef apron.
Much like Grant, Sophia had a gift that she could not stop asking for: a "cake bakery" (aka Easy Bake oven). I am happy to report that 100 watt light bulbs still bake a great cake.
