Trick or Treat

It's official . . . our kids are now old enough to appreciate the true meaning of Halloween in all of its sugary goodness. Last Sunday night our church let the kids go trick or treating through the Sunday School class rooms. Being lovers of candy like their mommy, both kids were thrilled to find that the purpose of donning costumes and walking around was to collect a basket full of candy. Our kids now have a new favorite hobby . . . trick or treating. It's true, they now ask me a couple times a day if we can go trick our treating again. Let's just hope Grant and Sophia pick up on the meaning of Thanksgivng and Christmas the way they did Halloween.

Despite all of his talk about just wanting to dress up as a kid for Halloween, Grant did get excited about dressing up in an actual costume. He actually had three opportunities to do so: he was an astronaut (pictured here) for church trick or treating and for his school party and he decided to be a race car driver for visiting friends on Halloween night.

This is Grant and some of his friends at church. Grant especially liked Chloe's clown suit.

Sophia was too busy checking out her stash of candy to pose for pictures.
