This is Grant with his teacher Ms. Bev. Bev has been Grant's teacher for the past two years and has truly set the standard for every other teacher either of our kids will have. She created a loving and supportive learning environment for Grant and was great at communicating with Travis and I as well. Bev was exactly the type of teacher that Grant (and his parents) needed.
This is Grant on stage during the program with some of his friends. The teachers made matching bug shirts for all of the kids.
This is Grant with is other teacher Ms. Kathy. As each child's name was called he or she walked across the stage and got to choose whether to give their teacher a hug, handshake, or high five. Grant chose the reverse hug. The little girl in the pink who you can see in the background is Madison. She was Grant's special friend. Sometimes when I would read to Grant's class, Grant and Madison would walk into the library holding hands..
It was a great night. As we left the building all of Grant's therapists and teachers were in the hall and said good-bye to him. Grant looked each one in the eye and told each one good-bye by name. He's come a long way . . .
