Pumkins!

We were fortunate to have been given several nice pumkins this year. We left them pretty and natural on the porch for most of the month. As the end of October neared our creative juices began flowing.

First we painted pumkins. We started this tradition when Grant was a year or two old because it allowed him to be more involved than pumkin carving did. The kids love it.

On a beautiful day last week, we decided to carve our pumkins. Both kids enjoyed scooping out the seeds and telling me how to carve the face on their pumkin.

Grant chose to make a happy pumkin with a square shaped nose.

Sophia chose to make a scary pumkin with a triangle shaped nose.

Sophia making a scary face with her scary pumkin. (She has a special "scary" voice that she likes to make too. So cute.)

Both kids showing off their best scary faces (though Grant's looks both scared and scarey!).
